The COVID‑19 pandemic, also known as the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus 2019 (COVID‑19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome.


The outbreak was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China.
The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020 and a pandemic on 11 March.
SYMPTOMS OF CORONA

Fever
Dry cough

Aches and pains
Sore throat
Diarrhoea
Conjuctivitis
Headache
Loss of taste or smell
Serious symptoms
Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath
Chest pain
On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days.

*There is currently no vaccine to prevent   coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
*The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being  exposed to this virus.
*The virus is thought to spread mainly from       person-to-person.
*Between people who are in close contact with   one another (within about 6 feet)

  • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.
  • These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

  • Some recent studies have suggested that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms.
CORONA PRECAUTIONS

Wash your hands frequently

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
NOTE:
​Excessive use of sanitizers can create stronger bacteria.According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, hand sanitizer with antibacterial ingredients can contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistance bacteria.

Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others

Mask may not only prevent you from virus,but it also prevents others from you.

Do NOT use a mask meant for a healthcare worker. Currently, surgical masks and N95 respirators are critical supplies that should be reserved for healthcare workers and other first responders.
NOTE:

Masks should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
Social Distance
Social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” means keeping a safe space between yourself and other people who are not from your household. To practice social or physical distancing, stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms' length) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Cover your mouth while coughing and Sneezing

Virus is found in high amounts in the nose and mouth.Use a tissue or sneeze into your elbow to keep your hands as clean as possible. Wash your hands carefully after you sneeze or cough, regardless.

Clean and disinfect
If your surfaces are dirty clean them with disinfectant or detergent or soap.
You can also use turmeric or neem powder for effective result.

Clean and disinfect your electronic devices
Prepare a solution with 70 per cent isopropyl and spray it on to a microfibre cloth. Now gently wipe your smartphone before the solution dries out

Wash the vegetables and fruits
Wash your vegetables thoroughly in hot water before you use

Safe Travelling

Maintain a distance of 6 feet (2 meters) between you and others as much as possible.

Avoid contact with anyone who is sick.

Limit contact with frequently touched surfaces, such as handrails, elevator buttons and kiosks. If you must touch these surfaces, use hand sanitizer or wash your hands afterward.


Check your health daily
Check your temperature,try to have one thermometer at home.Call your doctor if you have any symptoms. Stay home until you recover. 

Medical equipments

It is safe to have some medical equipments in your house like Thermometer and Oximeter.
 it is a good idea for everyone to keep a check on their blood oxygen levels. If they notice a drop, it would be a needed to go in for tests as low oxygen levels are one of the indicators of COVID-19.

Using a Pulse Oximeter is non-invasive and painless. It calculates the amount of oxygen in the blood in places farthest from the heart. A pulse oximeter is a small clip-like device that attaches to a body part like a finger, earlobe or toes. 


Bath daily with turmeric water
Bath twice a day with lukewarm water ,especially those who work and come to home.Add some turmeric or neem leaves(best and effective antibiotic available at home) to your water.

Stay hydrated

Drink more water i.e., 2-3 litres of water daily to remove toxins and virus from body.Drinking Hot water is more effective.

Special precautions and care should be taken for *Old people
*Pregnant women
*Infants
*Heart patients
*Diabetic patients
*Mainly with people suffering from lung       disease/infections.

BOOST YOUR IMMUNITY FROM YOUR DIET

Turmeric

Turmeric is a highly versatile spice that is added to meals.Make a homemade dressing using part oil, part vinegar, and seasonings including turmeric.

Tulsi
Tulsi is a very beneficial herb. It protects against infections from viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa.Taking one teaspoon of basil daily in the morning improves your immune system.

Kashayam
Add turmeric,tulsi,coriander seeds,dry ginger powder,jaggery,pepper in water and boil them.
Filter them and drink when it is hot.

Garlic

Garlic (Allium sativum), is used widely as a flavoring in cooking, but it has also been used as a medicine throughout ancient and modern history.In many countries, garlic has been used medicinally for centuries.Garlic may have a range of health benefits, both raw and cooked.
It may have significant antibiotic properties and anti viral properties.

Avoid Smoking and Alcohol

Smoking and other substance abuse weakens the respiratory system, while alcohol reduces the immunity. This makes the body susceptible to catching the virus and being infected.

Take Immunity-Boosting Foods 



 

One may include the following immunity boosting foods for increasing immunity against Coronavirus – immunity boosting vegetables like carrot, spinach, sweet potatoes, cantaloupes, dark leafy greens, tomato, asparagus, and broccoli; and immunity boosting fruits like mango, citrus fruits, and strawberries.


These fruits & vegetables contain vitamins A, C, D, and E, and minerals like magnesium, selenium, and zinc that acts as an immunity boosting vitamins.

All the above foods are also immunity boosters for kids. Special care is required in terms of diet for older people during Coronavirus pandemic as they are prone to catching it faster.
