ACNE

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It often causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples, and usually appears on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages.

Wash Your Face Daily

The first and most important rule is---Remember to wash your face! Cleansing and treating your skin twice a day is the best way to keep breakouts away.
But washing more times is not advisable.

Use the RightFace Cleanser

For a cleanser to be most effective, you have to pay attention to your skin’s needs and pick the ingredients accordingly.

Regularly Change Your Face Towel

Using dirty towels can harbor bacteria, and they can even introduce new bacteria to your skin, which may lead to more pimples.

Stay Hydrated
If the skin surface is dry and dehydrated, the oil glands tend to overproduce oil and this can make acne worse
Hydrating the skin surface can re-balance oil glands and help control acne and improve healing.
Drinking 2 litres of water is advisable to keep your skin hydrated.

Change your Diet
Leafy green vegetables and other brightly-colored fruit and vegetables which are rich in antioxidants and nutrients dampen inflammation and improve skin quality.

Change Your Pillowcases

Unwashed sheets and pillowcases lead to cross-contamination which leads to pimples. Aim to wash your bedding once or twice a week to prevent bacteria.

Try to Keep Your Hands Off Your Face

One of the most basic tips to get rid of acne is simply to keep your hands to yourself. Your hands aren’t always clean, and dirt under your fingernails and improper squeezing can cause acne to spread or lead to further infection.

Manage Your Stress and Get Enough Sleep

Sleeping for minimum 8 hours is best for a healthy skin.Inadequate sleep and stress leads to hormonal imbalance.

Medications for Acne

Benzoyl peroxide

It is recommended that you use benzoyl peroxide once or twice each day. When you first start using it, you will be recommended to use a 4% or 5% strength preparation. This will help keep any skin irritation to a minimum. If you find it does irritate then try the 2.5% strength once the irritation has settled. These strength preparations often work as well as the higher 10% strength preparations and cause less skin irritation.

Oral medications

some oral medications like erythromycindoxycyclinetetracycline  or minocycline can be used in patients with moderate to severe inflammatory acne.
Doses vary from person to person.

For Severe Acne-Isotretinoin

This medication is used to treat severe cystic acne (also known as nodular acne) that has not responded to other treatment. It belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids.

Isotretinoin in just a single dose can cause severe birth defects or death of a baby. Never use isotretinoin if you are pregnant or may become pregnant.
